Using a classic urn shape, the form was divided and cast into 5 uneven sections. When cast, each section could be compiled into a different order with the top, middle, bottom reconfigured and placed right side up or upside down. Sectioned were not keyed together, so each section could be twisted on it’s axis or offset from it’s center. Each section was individually banded together and then the 5 sections, plus a blank bottom where strapped together with plastic film wrap. This process allowed for unlimited variations on the urn theme. Slip cast Δ04 Oxidation firing
