Growing up my grandfather owned a plastics manufacturing business. He was certainly on the cutting edge of his time, even having Raymond Lowey design a product for the company. As a child, before there were OSHA standards, I was allowed to roam around the factory floor and stood in awe of these huge behemoths of machines cranking out injection molded pieces and vacuum formed parts by the thousands. I was always given a box of parts to take home and play with. Mixing them to the sizeable collection of Legos® and Erector® sets on hand and I was more than happy to entertain myself by inventing and building the world of tomorrow.
Jump forward in time, I’ve combined this self-directed, task oriented creative thought process system with a hands-on knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes. I’ve balanced my efforts in providing industrial design/inventing services for clients, build the occasional Gothic Revival castle and my own entrepreneurial projects by bringing products to market that make the world a better place and sometimes even make people smile and laugh. And, I get to live in Portland, OR. the best city to ride a bike in everyday.
